The Lawsuit # 216321857 was Filed 02/07/2025

Homes Not Hotels, Inc-a Florida not for profit corporation filed a lawsuit against  

the City of Indian Rocks Beach. 

The lawsuit is based upon statements made at the January 14, 2025 City Commission meeting.

At the January 14, 2024, the City Attorney made statements which indicated an illegal closed door/private Commissioner meeting may have been held on December 11, 2024.

It appears that the City of Indian Rocks Beach may have illegally discussed terms of settling a demand letter sent by a Short-Term Rental owner regarding alleged damages sustained from future lost revenue.

Florida law seems to prohibit the City Commission from holding a closed door/private meeting to discuss matters regarding threatened lawsuits vs actual pending lawsuits against the City of Indian Rocks Beach.
